| Abstract | Reading fluency is essential for academic success but remains insufficiently developed in many children. FLINK, a digital reading fluency intervention for grades 2 to 6, is based on the text-fading method and targets silent reading. It is designed for students in the lower and middle performance range who already master basic reading skills but continue to face challenges with reading fluency. Embedded in the progress monitoring system (i)quop(/i), FLINK enables teachers to identify reading-related needs and automatically track student progress. Large-scale evaluations of FLINK demonstrated that regular training significantly increases reading speed while maintaining comprehension. Thus, FLINK represents an evidence-based, practice-oriented program that integrates easily into everyday classroom contexts. At the same time, it is in continuous development, with ongoing research and practical experience feeding directly into further improvements. (ZPID). |
