Abstract	Primary school students sometimes suffer from math anxiety, which correlates negatively with their math performance. To date, however, we know little about the origins of math anxiety. The present study examines whether math anxiety is already present in preschool children and investigates the relevant variables associated with it. We analyzed data from 117 children and their parents (n = 113) from 15 daycare centers. Ten children showed initial signs of math anxiety. Overall, the results indicate that math anxiety is connected to factors related to children and their parents. Particularly, children?s gender and mathematics self-concept represent significant predictors. (ZPID).
