Abstract	Communication about emotions between parents and their children plays an important role in the emotional socialization of children. This poses a particular challenge for families with deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children. The ?Fragebogen zur Elterlichen EmotionsKommunikation (F-El-EmKom)? is the German version of the ?Parent-Child Emotion Communication Questionnaire? (Rieffe et al. 2024). Preliminary data on the factorial structure, reliability and validity of the procedure are reported in a sample of 102 parents of DHH preschool children. In addition, the significance of socio-demographic and deaf-specific characteristics of the sample studied for emotional communication is examined and comparisons are drawn with the results of the study by Rieffe et al. (2024). The results show that the F-El-EmKom provides a reliable and valid assessment of parental emotional communication. The comparison with the data from the Rieffe et al. study shows no significant differences. The opportunities and limitations of the questionnaire are discussed. (ZPID).
