| Abstract | Background: Students with ADHD face unique challenges, as university studies place high demands on attention and executive functions. They often struggle with organization, planning, and procrastination. This case study outlines these difficulties and presents a short-term, behaviorally oriented intervention tailored to the university context. Results: The 8-week intervention led to a significant decrease in inattentive and ADHD-specific symptoms (assessed using the CAARS subscales for Inattention and the ADHD-Index) as well as a significantly greater use of compensatory strategies compared to a wait-list control group. Conclusion: A brief intervention can help students with ADHD improve their functionality and better meet the demands of their studies. Discussion: The results highlight the need for tailored interventions to best support students with ADHD, in addition to pharmacological treatments. However, successful participation requires not only individual but also structural measures. (ZPID). |
