Abstract	Autism is increasingly understood as a natural variant of neurobiological development. This paradigm shift away from deficit-orientated models towards a perspective that values neurodiversity has far-reaching consequences for early childhood education and intervention. This article introduces the SPELL framework: Structure, Positive approaches and expectations, Empathy, Low arousal and Links. This practice-orientated model offers a respectful, value-based approach to the individual design of support services for autistic children.
