Abstract	The Self-Efficacy Scale for Children (SWE-K) consists of 13 questions that are answered by children aged four to eight years in a structured interview. This article presents the psychometric results of the SWE-K based on a sample of 750 children. The internal consistency of the scale with a Cronbach?s alpha of.82 can be considered as good, the values for item discrimination ranged from moderate to good. Furthermore, the one-dimensionality of the scale was confirmed by factor analysis. In addition, correlations between the SWE-K and other instruments were found to be in the expected range: Moderate correlations were observed between the children?s self-efficacy, their self-concept of ability, and their social self-concept; a strong correlation was found between children?s and parents? self-efficacy. The results are discussed in relation to the context of the scale?s application. (ZPID).
