| Abstract | The author attempts "to trace the development of British interest in various aspects of education in Germany over the past two centuries." He explores this under the aspect that there existed several types of "attraction" that Germany had for British educationists and comparativists which led them to regard Germany as a country for "borrowing", i.e. "the process of utilising models and approaches observed in other contexts" - in this case models of German education and education policy.
