Abstract | Sexually abused (n=29) and non-sexually abused (n=29) females, aged 5 to 9, chose schematic faces which best represented various emotional scenarios. Although a history of sexual abuse did influence performance on specific emotions, particularly at certain ages, specific facial components had no effect on interpretation of facial expressions.
