| Abstract | Many elementary students remain below grade-level in mathematics and require intervention for foundational math skills. Educators need strategies that are efficient, feasible, and deliver lasting results. This study combined the Concrete-Representational-Abstract intervention with Video Modeling (CRA-VM) intervention to improve two-digit by one-digit addition without regrouping among three first-grade students identified as at risk for math failure. Using a single-case, multiple-probe across participants design, video modeling was used to implement sequences of the CRA intervention. Visual analysis indicated immediate level changes with the onset of CRA-VM, large increases in accuracy during intervention with minimal overlap with baseline, and maintenance of gains after withdrawal for all three students. Social validity ratings reflected high acceptability and perceived benefit. The current study demonstrated that CRA-VM can deliver rapid, durable improvements in early addition while reducing reliance on live teacher modeling, making it practical for classrooms (across general education and resource settings), small groups, or home practice.
