AbstractThe plate and frame filtration experiment is one of the essential experiments performed by undergraduate students during their practical education. While this experiment often relies on the conventional manual recording of data and calculation, there are frequent problems with data collection because capturing transient data of filtrate volume and corresponding time synchronously is challenging during the operation. We demonstrated herein a computer-based recording and calculation technique with automatic image generation and digital analysis for the filtration experiment. Using a Python-based program coupled with an Internet platform, students were able to determine the math function and then compute the desired constants efficiently. No prior knowledge of coding or programming was required of the students. Moreover, the students and instructors gave positive feedback on the developed app, which showcased the practical feasibility of applying such an inexpensive platform. (As Provided).
