| Abstract | Improving the quality of the undergraduate experience is a complex issue that may best be addressed through the reduction of silos and an increase in cooperation and coordination by student and academic affairs (Banta & Kuh, 1998; Reger & Hyman, 1989). The purpose of this study was to develop a meaningful classification of collaboration, based on a national survey of chief student affairs officers, in order to better describe what collaboration represents on today's college campus and provide a strong and rich foundation for future research and for application to practice.
