Abstract | The purpose of this quantitative correlational predictive study is to examine if and to what extent average district total funding and school adequacy predict district performance through student achievement in reading and mathematics in public school districts in the State of Arizona for the fiscal year 2023. The research focused on the predictive relationship between total district funding, school adequacy and district performance through student achievement combined and individually in reading and mathematics. The sampling method for the study was a convenience sample in which the researcher sampled districts in the State of Arizona. The final sample size included in this study was N = 176. The interpretation of the multiple regression analysis for research question one indicated a rejection of the null hypothesis, F (2, 173) = 31.47, p = 0.001, R[superscript 2] = 0.267. The interpretation of the multiple regression analysis for research question two also indicated a rejection of the null hypothesis. The interpretation of the multiple regression analysis for research question three indicated a rejection of the null hypothesis, F (2, 173) = 27.43, p = 0.001, R[superscript 2] = 0.241. The interpretation of the multiple regression analysis for research question four also indicated a rejection of the null hypothesis. Thus, average district total funding and district adequacy combined and "either" individually were able to predict district student achievement in reading and mathematics for fiscal year 2023 in public schools in the State of Arizona.
