Abstract | This second volume of the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS) Test and its associated curriculum, begins with an overview of the test and a discussion on the purpose and value of the assessment and evaluation of young children. Chapter 3 describes the target population for the AEPS Test and the use of the test with children with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, central nervous system disorders, seizure disorders, sensory impairments, and general developmental delays, as well as children who are typically developing but at risk. The content and organization of the AEPS Test is then discussed. Chapter 4 describes a set of data collection strategies, including using descriptive records and using the Child Observation Data Recording Form. Section 2 of the text contains the AEPS Test items for infants and toddlers and section 3 of the text contains the AEPS test items for children ages 3 to 6 years. The test items are divided into six developmental areas: (1) fine motor; (2) gross motor; (3) adaptive; (4) cognitive; (5) social communication; (6) and social. An appendix provides assessment activities for infants and toddlers ages birth through three and for children ages 3 through 6. (CR) |
