| Abstract | The collective bargaining agreement between Eastern Michigan University and the Eastern Michigan University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) covering the period September 1, 1985-August 31, 1987 is presented. Items covered in the agreement include: definitions, unit recognition, management rights, union rights, released time, membership dues and service fees, grievance procedure, layoff and recall, professional responsibilities of faculty members, international projects appointments, leaves of absence, sabbatical leaves and research/creative activity fellowships, faculty committees, faculty appointments and reappointments, tenure and reappointments, nonrenewal of probationary appointments, suspensions for reasonable cause, termination for reasonable cause, termination for medical reasons, resignations, personnel files, compensation and salary adjustments, medical/dental insurance, long-term disability benefits, travel insurance, tuition assistance for faculty and family members, retirement benefits, tenure buyout plan, death benefits, health and safety committee, and strikes/lockouts. Appendices contain six memoranda of understanding and a minimum salary table for 1985. (SW) |
