Abstract | This chapter focuses on a major challenge facing education systems across the world, that of finding ways of including all children and young people in schools. Faced with this challenge, there is evidence of an increased interest internationally in the idea of making schools more inclusive and education systems more equitable. Using examples from the authors’ current work, the chapter presents a collaborative research approach that is intended to make direct contributions to thinking and practice in the field. Significantly, the approach makes use of resources that are already available in every school in the world: teachers, students, families, and other stakeholders. In this way the chapter seeks to contribute to ongoing debates about finding ways of ensuring that educational research has an impact on thinking and practice in the field. (DIPF/Orig.) |
