Abstract	Der vorliegende Bericht schaut aus Sicht von Bildungsgewerkschaften weltweit auf den Status von Lehrenden und den Lehrberuf. Er basiert auf einer Umfrage unter 73 Mitgliedsorganisationen von Education International (EI) aus allen Regionen der Welt. Der Bericht wird seit 2015 alle 3 Jahre publiziert. In verschiedenen Kapiteln wird dabei auf folgende Themen eingegangen: Definition des Lehrerstatus; Faktoren, die den Status von Lehrern beeinflussen; Möglichkeiten zur Messung des Status von Lehrern und des Lehrerberufs; Analyse der Umfragedaten; Nationaler demografischer Bildungskontext; Bewertung der allgemeinen Wahrnehmung des beruflichen Status von Lehrern; Organisation des Bildungssystems in den beteiligten Ländern; Anwerbung, Bindung und Entwicklung von Lehrern; Konsultation des Berufsstands zu wichtigen Bildungsfragen; Bezahlung, Zusatzleistungen und Arbeitsbedingungen; Meinungsfreiheit, Vereinigungsfreiheit und Kollektivverhandlungen; Akademische Freiheit und berufliche Autonomie; Institutionelle Rechte, Pflichten und Verantwortlichkeiten; Verbesserung des Lehrerstatus. This report looks at the status of teachers and the teaching profession from the perspective of education unions worldwide.
