Abstract | This contribution is introduced by remarks on current research of socialization theories and the author's own interest of cognition in discussing this matter. The author reveals four developmental stages of socialization research between 1895 and 1980. Then he specifies the basic approaches in socialization theory: role and interaction theories as well as class-analytic and ecological approaches. He directs his criticism towards the hitherto prevailing class-specific socialization research, while he rather expects further developments from ecological approaches. The article concludes with a debate of the effects of socialization research on innovation in schools, exemplified by curriculum research. The author maintains that ecological socialization research is particularly relevant for theoretical substantiation of experience-based curriculum development. (DIPF/Orig.) |
