| Abstract | "This Cedefop Insight builds on a systematic mapping of national structures and legislation governing the recognition of foreign VET qualifications across the EU-27 plus Norway and Iceland. It covers recognition for both further learning and employment purposes, distinguishing between regulated and non-regulated professions, and also examines existing validation arrangements in connection to recognition practices. Drawing on data from a ReferNet survey conducted in 2024 (Symeonidis & Blomqvist, 2025) and the European inventory on the validation of non-formal and informal learning (2023), as well as email consultations carried out in 2026 with 24 ENIC-NARIC centres (1) and respective competent recognition authorities, the analysis provides a comparative overview of practices across Member States.
