(DIPF/Orig.). Drawing on Foucault as interpreted by Schäfer, the article argues that power is constitutive of pedagogy in Emotional and Social Development (ESE) Diagnostics, support planning, and interventions function as technologies of subjectivation that both enable and constrain. Critique is conceived as reflective non-compliance, rendering power relations visible and understanding professional responsibility as the continuous reflection on and limitation of power.
