| Abstract | In this chapter the author considers virtual reality (VR) in the context of music education and explains an empirical study which explored 10-15 year olds' thoughts and feelings about their experience of creating music in VR. Findings are presented in relation to three main areas: 1) the act of creating in multimedia spaces, 2) new perspectives in and through VR, and 3) the dimensions of experience. This article is part of the anthology European Perspectives on Music Education, Volume 13, addresses topics such as inclusive practices, the role of technology, and teacher education. (DIPF/Orig.). |
