| Abstract | In their practice paper "Fostering Children's Creativity and Artistic Freedom through the Terezin Relay Project" the authors provide a detailed account of a long standing project which has been running for 15 years. The project connects Czech students with the work of young people held in the Terezin ghetto (and later murdered in Auschwitz). Their poetry provides the inspiration for plays, music theatre and songs created by students of the Nature School, Prague, and shared with other students across the country. Peer learning, which was used at Terezin became a key element of this project. The authors share the practical approaches and strategies used to engage students in powerful creative responses. This article is part of the anthology European Perspectives on Music Education, Volume 13, addresses topics such as inclusive practices, the role of technology, and teacher education. (DIPF/Orig.). |
