This study uses computational text analysis to examine the curricular integration of migration and diversity in 87 German social work programs. The analysis documents systematic discrepancies between institutional rhetoric and structural implementation. While diversity terms appear in all module handbooks, their frequency varies extremely (3 to 1318 occurrences per institution). Semantic network analysis reveals characteristic hierarchies: "inclusion" dominates with 33.8% of all mentions, while power-critical concepts like "racism" (10.2%) and "intersectionality" (4.2%) remain marginalized. The concentration of these terms in elective modules while absent from mandatory courses constructs diversity as peripheral supplementary knowledge rather than fundamental professional competence. Two interviews with professors document the actor and institutional dependency of this curricular marginalization. The findings empirically confirm Ahmed's thesis of non-performativity in institutional diversity politics: diversity becomes a "happy point", a symbolic declaration functioning as an endpoint rather than a starting point for institutional transformation. |
