In times of the Covid-19 pandemic, hand washing has gained great importance as general hygiene measure and dirt prevention, but especially as protection against illness. It has been widely advertised in kindergartens, schools, families, publicly and institutionally. In the course of a research project by students from the bachelor's degree primary level - focus on elementary, a study on the hand hygiene of children was carried out by means of participant observation and subsequent structured interviews. 42 children between the ages of 3 and 10 years were observed during their daily hand hygiene and then interviewed. The results allow conclusions with regards to hygiene measures and dirt prevention and lead to specific intervention concepts for children in elementary school and during the transition period from kindergarten to elementary school. |
