| Abstract | Responds to a comment by D. Oppenheimer and A. Alter (same issue) that stressed the importance of searching for moderators in disfluency research. In contrast to D. Oppenheimer and A. Alter, it is assumed that learner characteristics might moderate the effects of disfluency. Furthermore, possible biases based on the file-drawer problem in conclusions concerning the impact of disfluency in educational settings are discussed. To counteract this possibility, other researchers are encouraged to publish their studies regardless of their outcomes. (ZPID). |
