(Autorinnen). This article discusses health literacy as a relevant concept for speech and language therapy and outlines its implications for professional communication, patient-centred practice, and the design of therapeutic processes. Health literacy is understood not only as a patient-related competence but also as a professional responsibility of practitioners to communicate information in a clear, accessible, and audience-appropriate way. The paper shows that the topic is important not only for therapeutic practice but also for education, academic training, and professionalization in the health professions. In this respect, the article also addresses an issue of relevance for educational contexts within teaching and learning processes of professional qualification. (Authors). |
