| Abstract | The research of our group explores how teaching practices in Russian general education schools have changed in recent years, a time in which school reforms have become a continuous process. The rules by which Russian schools historically lived, which had been developed over years (and in many cases decades), lost their effectiveness in the course of the 2000s. Schools could no longer keep up with the new demands constantly emerging from bureaucrats' offices under the influence of political realities, which themselves were and are changing at an impressive rate. We discussed these topics with teachers of history and social studies in Russia, whose work has been the most affected by the imposition of new ideological standards from above. |
