Abstract	How are various media, old and new, apt to foster the use of literature in the EFL classroom? This article consists of three parts aimed at making a contribution to this question. The first part introduces the reader to a classroom project that was based on Web 2.0 Wiki technology and which aimed at improving students' abilities to write about literature. A further project, a learning circle on A Streetcar Named Desire, and the function of media applied in this circuit, is analysed. Moreover, a short survey among teachers and students on their private and professional use of media, in particular Web 2.0 tools, is presented. In conclusion, one may ask to what extent reading can be made more motivating and easier by media and in how far the reading of books should be maintained as a cultural skill. (Verlag, adapt.).
