Abstract	Blended Learning (BL) is a present buzz word within education that does not have, as yet, any specific definition (Clarke 2004). However, several studies have identified its distinct characteristics and results that are observable in various contexts (Kerres and de Witt 2003); teacher-researchers in foreign language education have also ascertained its positive effects on learners' attitudes towards foreign language learning (Yuvienco and Hwang 2005a). Drawing on a review of literature on educational technology and the author's twenty years of experience of teaching English as a foreign language, the paper attempts to offer an educational framework for Blended Learning within Foreign Language Teaching, a structural configuration which inter-relates theories and practices for the design, implementation and evaluation of a BL-oriented syllabus. The principal elements of the framework are drawn on Bloom's taxonomy of educational goals (1956), the principles of which enjoin the complementary use of both traditional and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-supported forms of teaching and learning; and the attainment of these goals entails that foreign language instructors assume multi-faceted roles while deploying constructivism within foreign language education.
