Abstract	Soziale Arbeit und Politik stehen in einem Wechselverhältnis: Sozialpolitische Normen sind die Handlungsgrundlage Sozialer Arbeit, Soziale Arbeit soll diese Rahmenbedingungen aber auch mitgestalten. Diesen Auftrag kann sie sowohl "on the job" als auch "off the job" ausüben. Ein dritter, bisher wenig untersuchter Weg ist, "Politik als Beruf" auszuüben, also die Einflussnahme "as a job". Der vorliegende Beitrag blickt auf diese dritte Form und den Weg von Sozialarbeiter:innen in die Politik. Social work and politics are interrelated: socio-political norms are the basis for social work, but social work should also help shape these framework conditions. It can carry out this task both "on the job" and "off the job': A third way, which has been little studied so far, is to exercise "politics as a profession", i. e. to exert influence "as a job". This article looks at this third form and the path of social workers into politics.
