Abstract	Insbesondere im Alter prägen Determinanten sozialer Ungleichheit das sportliche Handeln sowie die körperliche Verfassung und somit das korporale Kapital von Individuen. Von wesentlicher Bedeutung sind dabei die vertikalen Determinanten sozialer Ungleichheit wie kulturelles, soziales und ökonomisches Kapital. Ziel der Studie war es, direkte und indirekte Beziehungen zwischen den Kapitalarten und sportlichem Handeln zu untersuchen. Die Zusammenhänge wurden auf Basis einer Befragung von N = 320 Personen (M = 60.04 Jahre) mittels eines Mediationsmodells überprüft. Der Zusammenhang zwischen dem kulturellen und dem korporalen Kapital wurde darin vollständig durch das soziale Kapital und die Sportaktivität vermittelt. Implikationen für die Rolle des sozialen Kapitals in der Entstehung von sozialer Ungleichheit werden diskutiert. (Autor). Especially in older age, determinants of social inequality characterize individuals' physical activity behavior as well as their physical conditions, and therefore also their corporal capital. Crucial aspects in this context are vertical determinants of social inequality, such as cultural, social, and economic capital. The aim of this study was to investigate direct and indirect associations between different types of capital and physical activity behavior. We conducted a survey of N = 320 persons (M = 60.04 years) to examine the connections by means of a mediation model. It revealed that the connection between cultural capital and physical capital was mediated entirely by social capital and physical activity. We discuss the implications of this finding for the role of social capital in the emergence of social inequality. (Autor).
