Abstract	Was ist sozial? Wann ist jemand sozial? Können wir überhaupt nicht sozial sein? Wie kann die Fähigkeit zu uneigennützigem Verhalten in der Evolution entstanden sein? Im sozialwissenschaftlichen Diskurs fehlt eine gründliche Auseinandersetzung mit den evolutionären Ursprüngen der menschlichen Spezies. Die Evolutionswissenschaften sind jedoch eine Fundgrube für Fragen nach dem Sozialen. Ergebnisse aus der evolutionären Anthropologie, der Soziobiologie und der Evolutionspsychologie lassen es zur Fragen nach dem Sozialen jetzt in neuer Weise zu formulieren und teilweise auch zu beantworten. What is social? When is someone acting in a socially responsible way? Can we be unsocial at all? How could the ability to act unselfishly have emerged in evolution? Social science discourse fails to thoroughly deal with the evolutionary origins of the human kind. Nevertheless, evolution sciences are a treasure trove for questions about social issues. Results from evolutionary anthropology, sociobiology and evolutionary psychology offer clues for posing and partly answering such questions in new ways.
