| Abstract | The tradition of Bonfire Night has survived over 400 years and is widely celebrated in Britain. Bonfire Night (also known as Fireworks Night or Guy Fawkes Night) documents the failure of a political plot to assassinate King James I in 1605 and blow up the Houses of Parliament. Every year on the fifth of November, people have Bonfire Night parties where they light bonfires and let off fireworks. The author tells the story and gives plenty of ideas on what to do with it in the classroom. (Verlag, adapt.). |
