Abstract	The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) prognostiziert bis zu 390.000 neue Arbeitsplätze, ein zusätzliches Wachstum des Bruttoinlandsproduktes von rund 30 Milliarden Euro beziehungsweise 1 Prozent sowie ein Investitionsvolumen von 250 Milliarden Euro durch Industrie 4.0. Dies sind zentrale Ergebnisse der BCG-Studie 'Industry 4.0: The Future of Productivity and Growth in Manufacturing Industries'. (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku). Industry 4.0 will transform the design, manufacture, operation, and service of products and production systems. Connectivity and interaction among parts, machines, and humans will make production systems as much as 30 percent faster and 25 percent more efficient and elevate mass customization to new levels.
