| Abstract | The author deals with a well-known pedagogue Frantisek Tolvay (Menyoi? 1649-1711) who was rector-headmaster of Calvinist school in Lucenec (1676- 1680). He introduced school laws (1676-78) which include the duties of rectors, teachers, pupils, managers and cooks. He wrote textbooks of mathematics which had 8 editions. ... He translated Comenius' Praecepta morum (in 1677 and 1690). Tolvay's pedagogic activities show paralels with Comenius' didactic ideas... The study also offers the extracts from archive documents - Laws of Lucenec School, from the translation of Comenius' works and Tolvay's own mathematic and poetic works. The study also presents the documents from the history of Calvinist school in Slovakia in the 17th and the beginning of the 18th century. ( DIPF/Abstract übernommen) |
