Abstract	How do university students manage the transition from college to the workplace? Female university graduates were interviewed both two and five years after graduation. Focus was laid on current career choices and on future as well as past time perspective. Kurt Lewin's concept of time perspective, the totality of the individual's views of his psychological future and psychological past at a given time, was employed. Future time perspective proved to be more flexible at the second measurement. This could relate to the fact that not all of the subjects got the job they had been trained for at college. At college, students had not thought about alternative career paths, but after having experienced the real work situation with its chances and constraints, their outlook became more realistic and they conceived of new opportunities.
