"The report is in two parts with appendices. Part 1 sets out the main findings and identifies key issues. It reports on aspects of the schools' sixth form: the curriculum and the way in which it is organised; the guidance and support available to students; the response and attitudes of the students; the costs and deployment of resources; the measures taken by the schools to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the sixth forms. Part 2 consists of four case studies selected to illustrate different aspects of cost-effective sixth forms. There are three appendices: curriculum models for sixth forms; aspects of costing post-16 provision in schools; using value-added indicators". |
