AbstractThis is one of a series of 30 monographs documenting the progress and accomplishments of the Minnesota Work Adjustment Project. Presented in this, the final report, is an overview of the project as well as detailed explanations of outcomes and activities. The conceptualized Work Adjustment Theory is the foremost accomplishment of the research effort while the study itself had as its objectives the prediction of work adjustment, and the understanding of the process of adjustment to work. An underlying assumption of the theory is the interaction between work personality and work environment as a way of conceptualizing the process by which an individual adjusts to work. Major project activities included: (1) the development and pilot testing of vocational assessment instruments, (2) the design and implementation of a 5-year followup survey, and (3) the development and pilot operation of a vocational assessment clinic.
