AbstractConversation with many juvenile children residing at observation Homes exemplifies how their past haunts them and at times is a major source of them feeling unequipped to survive in the world outside the barriers of the government Home boundaries. This lack of self-confidence may also demotivate the child from returning to formal education at a school. Access to a Hole-in-the-Wall Education Ltd (HiWEL) Learning Station (LS) for these juvenile children, as reflected in the case studies presented in this article, is an innovative, interesting and challenging way not only to equip them in IT literacy or strengthen their educational knowledge, but also to explore themselves as individuals while learning and developing their own capabilities beyond imagination. Exposure to the HiWEL LS allows a juvenile child to look beyond the scars of his past to a future where he believes he too can be part of the world and its million opportunities. (ERIC).
