Abstract | This study examined the effects of the digital storytelling experience of beginning pre-service teachers on their self-efficacy in educational technology and disposition toward change with regard to new technological approaches to teaching. A total of 76 freshmen participated in the study. After participating in a brief tutorial session, the participants created their own personal stories using Photo Story software. Results indicated that the participants' technology competency and dispositions toward change with regard to new technological approaches to teaching improved with the experience of digital storytelling. The study suggests that digital storytelling is an educational tool that can promote constructive and authentic learning experiences. The study then recommends that instructors of teacher education programs consider tools, like digital storytelling, that infuse the pre-service teachers' personal technology skills into their future classrooms.
