Abstract | The children's self-image is affected by the ways in which they see themselves in texts both verbal and visual which plays an important role in building self-image and the belief-system of the children. The development of critical literacy skills in children and teachers and the importance of exposing the children to transcultural literature are needed to build good self-image. (Author). |
