Abstract | Describes the lack of critical exploration of Native American identity in the U.S. P-12 and higher education system, deconstructing stereotypes, historical imagery, and cultural assumptions about Native Americans using statistics and factual information and challenging educators to evaluate their educational histories and attitudes toward Native Americans as a first step toward critical exploration of Native American identity.
