Abstract | Reviews material on three process-oriented models that have been used to describe and measure the development of racial identity and cross-cultural competence. These models are: (1) Helms's Racial Identity Theory (J. Helms, 1984) (2) Banks's Typology of Ethnicity (J. Banks, 1984); and (3) M.
