Abstract | This article reflects on the authors' experiences and those of their students in teaching and learning during a Learning Together course on The Good Life and the Good Society (GLGS) held in an English high security prison involving students serving sentences in the prison and students from the University of Cambridge. This article is based on data that has been collected as part of the ongoing action-research initiative, Learning Together (see Armstrong & Ludlow, 2016, 2020), and based on the authors' own ongoing personal and academic reflection on this teaching and learning practice. Here the authors examine the convergence of transformative pedagogy, the content of the course (ethics at the intersection of philosophy, theology, religious studies, and social anthropology), and the lives and experiences of all the course participants.
