Abstract | This study aims to examine the Instructional methods and self-regulated learning in writing english subjects. Instructional methods used are Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition and Picture-Word Inductive Model (PWIM). This research used 2x2 factorial design and is included in a quasi-study involving students of class VII semester I of MTsN-1 Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan as subjects. The number of students studied was 80 people from two different classes in the 2018/2019 school year. Data acquisition from the two classes was conducted randomly (cluster random sample). Researchers used the 2-way ANOVA technique to test the research hypotheses. The test results proved that (1) the CIRC method implemented in English learning can improve student writing skills when compared to the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) method, (2) English writing skills in students with low self-regulated learning are better than students with high self-regulated learning, (3) the interaction of self-regulated learning with learning methods has been shown to affect students' skills in writing English texts. CIRC learning method based on self-regulated learning is recommended to be implemented as a learning method for improving students' writing skills. Specifically, the researcher concludes that CIRC is an effective learning method applied to students with high and low self-regulated learning in an effort to improve their writing skills.
