Abstract | Student disciplinary systems have been operating in higher education for decades and their role in furthering an institution's educational mission continues to raise. Almost all institutions have a Code of Conduct section in their handbook which describes all rules and regulations students must comply with in addition to federal, state, and local laws. The student conduct process varies as each university or college has their own unique set of standards and methods for adjudicating misbehaviors. Through a document analysis, we examined the history of student conduct and analyzed the mission of student conduct offices at community colleges in the state of Florida. (As Provided). |
