Abstract | This article presents the findings of a study conducted at five Finnish business schools in 2009. The aim of the study was to provide a broad picture of different aspects connected with language education at universities. After an overview of the situation of language studies in Finnish business education, the results are presented of the analysis of students' language backgrounds and their attitudes towards languages, language learning and plurilingualism. Finally, a closer look is taken at the respondents' reasons for choosing or not choosing different languages, and their reasons for withdrawing from courses. (As Provided). |
