Abstract | This article traces the evolution of the National Curriculum in Australia, suggesting that it is not linked to national testing like that in England and Wales, but based on incremental outcomes to be demonstrated by students at different levels in eight key learning areas. It reports an intensive study of four primary schools in NSW, focussing on the assessment implications of the emerging National Curriculum. Data, collected from interviews and observations, were analysed using a grounded theory approach and findings are reported in relation to the perceived benefits and problems of assessment and developing school assessment practices.(DIPF/Abstract übernommen) |
