Abstract | Every person and every society has values that they believe in. Values are Important and lasting beliefs, or ideals shared by the members of a culture about what is good or bad and desirable or undesirable. Values are the conscience; the lighthouse that directs us how to behave in different situations. The three values of Olympism are excellence, friendship and respect. They constitute the foundation on which the Olympic Movement builds its activities to promote sport, culture and education with a view to building a better world. They are identified by the Olympic Movement as the essential values of Olympism. Coubertin intention was to create a language that would be universal with humanistic values that would be understood by all. This will allow everybody to connect and understand that we are one nation fighting for the same goal to avoid wars. (Autor). |
