Abstract | For over 25 years the term 'physical literacy' has been incorporated in the physical education context. Physical literacy (PL) has gained prominence throughout the world in England, Canada, the United States, Scotland, Wales, Australia, and New Zealand (Young, et. al., 2020). Much of the literature has highlighted the benefits of physical literacy being emphasized and extolled to students in K-12 physical education (PE) Yet, there is little research investigating physical literacy on the college level, more specifically in college physical activity (PA) classes. The purpose of this study was to investigate PL with the college students' perceptions of Appropriate Instructional Practices (AIP) in college PA classes on their physical literacy. Participants for this study included 269 college-aged students (147 males & 122 females) who were surveyed regarding their knowledge of PL from their participation in PA classes. The results from this study highlights the college PA classes strengthening the college students knowledge of PL. (Autor). |
