Abstract	The following theatrical scene was created as part of a seminar on the topic of "play" in the summer semester of 2022 in the MasterMusic Pedagogy course at the Musikhochschule Freiburg (Br.), which was led by Wolfgang Lessing and Christine Löbbert. In this seminar, the theoretical discussion of philosophical and pedagogical theories of play repeatedly led to the question of the value that is generally assigned to play in our society. Due to the approaching congress on the topic of "Artistic Citizenship", this range of topics became more and more connected to the overarching question of the self-understanding of instrumental pedagogical work in the face of the dramatic worldwide crises.
